This one-day course employs the HazMatIQ methodology to simplify the complex realm of hazardous materials, equipping street-level responders with the tools and knowledge needed to conduct rapid risk assessments in minutes, and assists with the identification of hazards, meters, and PPE needed to safely, effectively and efficiently respond to a hazardous materials incident.
The course blends classroom instruction with practical exercises, enabling participants to use a variety of identification technologies and detection tools to analyze unknown solids, liquids, and gases. Emphasis is placed on assessing hazards such as flammability, corrosiveness, fluorine presence, and radiation. Participants will explore the applications and limitations of detection technologies, gaining a comprehensive understanding of their capabilities in real-world scenarios.
Designed for first responders, safety professionals, and emergency management professionals, this training focuses on hazard classification systems, chemical properties, and risk assessment methodologies. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to effectively evaluate risks, develop response strategies, and manage hazardous materials incidents.
Key Topics:
