Radiation incidents present unique challenges for EMS providers, nurses, and physicians. Responders must be ready to use proper PPE, conduct triage, perform radiation surveys, carry out decontamination, and assess the severity of exposures before determining appropriate treatment and disposition.
This one-day training course provides practical instruction in all of these critical areas. The day will conclude with a live demonstration of how to receive and manage a victim contaminated with radioactive material.
